The Neurosciences Institute Council

The Neurosciences Institute Council serves to bring national leaders from diverse fields into closer association with the fascinating and critical research being conducted at the Institute. The Council is a vehicle not only for education about brain science, but also for drawing upon the wisdom of those with a broad view of our society and its interests. All members of the Council are presented with a personal experience of the discovery process as it unfolds at the Institute. This “behind-the-scenes” view of work at the Institute provides each Council member with an immediate view of the Institute’s ongoing exploration of the human brain.

Members of the Council meet formally each year concurrent with the autumn Board of Trustees meeting in La Jolla. Other gatherings of Council members are occasionally held informally in New York City and other locations where Council members live and work.
