The scientific staff of the Institute includes Senior Fellows, Associate Fellows, Research Fellows, and Postdoctoral Fellows. Senior Fellows are accomplished investigators who lead independent research programs at the level of a full professor at other institutions. Associate Fellows are substantially independent investigators who may work together with one or more Senior Fellows. Research Fellows generally have completed postdoctoral training and work together with one or more Associate or Senior Fellows. Postdoctoral Fellows have recently received a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and generally work directly with a Senior or Associate Fellow to receive advanced training and gain research experience. Individuals are designated as Fellows in Experimental or Theoretical Neurobiology according to their primary area of research. The Institute encourages maximal scientific interaction among all the Fellows, no matter what their particular field of interest.
